Any student may arrive by Parent/Guardian Drop-Off.

For 2022-2023: A Club Staff member will meet students who attend Randall Elementary School to walk along with them to Monroe Street Arts Center. Students who do not attend Randall will arrive by parent drop-off. (Note for Franklin Elem Families: We will work with MMSD Transportation to request a bus stop near Club for next school year. We will greet any Franklin students who have MMSD approval to take the bus in the afternoons that stops at the closest stop to MSAC and we will walk with them to Club; please Contact Us to discuss this possibility.)

Q: Can my child attend for part of the afternoon?

A: Yes! Snack and Create & Connect Time will take place for the first part of each day and we will help students join the activities as they arrive! Specialty activities (art, yoga, culinary, drama or music) will begin at about 3:45 pm Tues-Fri (and 1:45 pm on Mondays).

Q: Can my child attend activities at both locations?

A: Yes! Please be in touch with us to discuss availability to split enrollment between the Middleton and Madison locations.

Q: What about COVID?

A: We have been successfully running our Club program since September 2020, without needing to close, and have established health and safety protocols that we follow carefully. Please see below for our current COVID-19 protocol. With the ever-changing landscape, we update our plan as is advised, however we will absolutely be following all Public Health guidelines and are 100% committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our Club families and our staff.

COVID-19 Notes:

Our plan is constantly evolving as new information and guidelines become available, with the overarching goal of creativity and community in a safe and healthy environment. Our current protocol include:

  • Groups will remain separate from each other at all times and group size will follow local health orders.

  • Thorough cleaning of surfaces and spaces will be a priority, as it always is!

  • Per the Public Health Madison & Dane County Emergency Order, face coverings/masks are required when in an indoor space (except while eating or drinking) We will follow all mask-related public health orders in place during the school year.

  • Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will always available for students and staff and frequent hand washing will be practiced.

  • Our staff members are all fully vaccinated.

  • We will follow all health and safety requirements and guidelines from Public Health Madison & Dane County regarding quarantines and closures.

Bio Coming Soon!

Cynthia MSAC

Art Specialist

Cynthia knew she was an artist and a reader when as a tiny kid she fell in love with the comics pages in her parents’ Sunday newspapers. Growing up, the Wisconsin River was her back yard, which is where her love of camping, paddling, hiking, and just being outside was planted. When she was 13, she got a job on a small quirky horse farm. The farmer introduced her to welding, making sculptures out of odds and ends, and her love for metal took root. Over the years, she experimented with other mediums and materials – drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, theater set design, and a lot of clay – but the metal kept calling her back. Now, it is her main focus, and several years ago she formally launched CJ Bliss Metal Art. But she still likes to play with other things too, just for fun. Besides the real world education gained by just doing stuff, she got some formal training too. She earned her BS in Art Education at UW Madison, and later an MS in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on art from UW Whitewater. Also, she has been an art teacher for 28 years, and her students have been some of her best teachers.  She lives in Madison with her husband Bob, and their dog Opal.

Music Specialist

Zach's musical journey started at an early age with his father's love of playing classical music around the house. This led to Zach choosing to study the cello beginning in 5th grade.

He started playing guitar at age 11 when he found an old forgotten electric guitar at his cousin's apartment. Noticing the parallels between the cello and guitar Zach started using the knowledge of his formal cello training to inform his learning the guitar.

Zach graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Music degree. He has since been involved in many aspects of the music industry both on and off the stage including radio dj, record company liason, and front-of-house sound. He currently teaches Music Together, guitar, and ukulele at MSAC.

Zach's goal is to show young people the magic of music and help that foundation grow into a lifetime of musical enjoyment!
